.I was inspired last night. Miss23, MoneyPants and I were having dinner at Banzai in Leederville when Miss23 casually mentioned a good deed she had done earlier in the week. She bought something like a 5 kg ham (easily worth $30) and $80 worth of food and donated it to the Salvation Army for them to give to needy families for Christmas. We all joke that Miss23 can be somewhat stingy, but heck, that is so good and giving of her! I was not only inspired, I was impressed!
Earlier in the evening we were in Subiaco shopping for each others Christmas presents, spending something around the $50 vicinity and there we were in Banzai, eating a delicious and hearty Japanese meal. Let’s face it - we’re lucky. And we’re extremely fortunate.
So this morning I emptied out the pantry and did some grocery shopping and created a huge food basket to give to the Salvation Army. There’s asparagus, tomatos, baked beans, spaghetti, fruit cake, cordial, mushrooms, fruit salads, creamed corn, beetroot, tuna, cake mixes, potato crisps, spam, salsa dip, packet soup sachets, canned beef stews, chocolate biscuits, strawberry wafers, muesli bars, coco pops, instant noodles and nacho sets!
It was fun! And this Christmas, I am going to take great pleasure knowing that I’ve contributed in some way. If you’d like to do the same, get in touch with your local community Salvation Army, otherwise, if you’re in Perth, email me
and I’d be more than happy to give you the mobile number of the guy in charge with the food bank donation.
You might be wondering where my posts have dissapeared to… Simply, I was found out by friends of friends. Thanks to the help of marvellous Tiffanie and Chocolate Bear, they’ll be a new site coming soon.
Have a great Christmas everyone!
xoxo
